And as a follow up to my last post…

On 27 October 2013 at about 1245hrs, staff member of a UN Agency was assaulted by SPLA soldiers inside the John Garang Memorial in Juba. SPLA guards at the location picked up the staff member who was inside a UN vehicle waiting to pick up loaders to the airport to load helicopters with food destined for Jonglei. The staff member was accused of allegedly parking the vehicle in a restricted area; and was taken to the SPLA guard house where the soldiers demanded an amount of 500SSP from him. When the staff member failed to pay the money he was lashed seven times; but did not suffer any serious injury.

Seriously, people? Seriously? Seriously.
